Last week marked the end of an extraordinary five-day English wine journey we curated for a group of international guests – a trip that spanned from the chalky soils of Sussex to the rolling vineyards of Kent.
Although Opulence is proudly based in Kent, this experience was designed to showcase the diversity and brilliance of English wine. Across visits to Sugrue South Downs, Hambledon Wine Estate, Exton Park, Nyetimber, Roebuck, Wiston Estate, Gusbourne, and Domaine Evremond, our guests enjoyed exclusive, behind-the-scenes access – meeting the owners and winemakers and tasting rare, limited-edition wines not usually available to the public.
Their journey included stays at four distinctive hotels – Woodlands Park Hotel, The Pig in the South Downs, Nutfield Priory, and Chilston Park – each chosen to complement the vineyards we visited. Along the way, we also enjoyed wines from Artelium Wine Estate, Chapel Down, Balfour Winery, Tickerage, and Northbrook, including The Pig’s own English wine created in collaboration with Sugrue South Downs.
Every detail – from airport collection to the final toast – was meticulously planned to reflect the true spirit of English wine and the bespoke nature of every Opulence experience.
💬 Our client’s words say it best:
“Emma helped us put together an incredible trip, and her attention to detail is second to none. If you ever want to explore the wonders of England’s vineyards, there is no one better to curate a programme than Opulence. Fingers on the pulse and constantly striving for perfection – Emma will make sure it’s a trip for the books.”
It’s been a privilege to design such a remarkable journey and to see English wine continue to inspire and impress. A huge thank you to everyone who made this experience as special as it was!
