Squerryes

Situated in the heart of the North Downs, Squerryes Estate has been a beacon of joy and celebration for nearly 300 years, under the stewardship of eight generations of the Warde family,

Their 2,500-acre estate, rich in heritage and tradition, has seamlessly blended its storied past with a forward-thinking vision, culminating in the production of exceptional vintage sparkling wines that embody the spirit and terroir of their Kentish vineyards.

Planted in 2006, the Squerryes vineyards span 36 acres of prime chalk-rich soil. This unique landscape, coupled with a long, cool growing season, allows the estate to craft elegant, complex wines exclusively from hand-harvested Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. Squerryes follows the traditional method of winemaking, with all wines aged on lees for a minimum of 30 months, imparting depth and finesse.

The estate’s commitment to excellence is exemplified by its remarkable achievement of securing gold medals for six consecutive vintages at the prestigious Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships. In 2021, this dedication was further recognised when Squerryes was crowned National Champion, a testament to its unwavering pursuit of quality and innovation in English winemaking. By embracing a philosophy encapsulated by their family motto, “Licet Esse Beatis” (It is permitted to be joyful), Squerryes continues to set the standard for fine English sparkling wine.
