Located in the village of Appledore, Kent, Gusbourne is renowned for its exceptional terroir, where Wealden clay-loam soils and a warm, dry maritime climate create ideal conditions for viticulture. This unique environment allows Gusbourne to be among the first in England to commence harvest, with proximity to the sea imparting a distinctive saline character to their wines.

Since planting their first vines in 2004, Gusbourne has been committed to cultivating the highest quality Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes across their 60 hectares in Appledore, and an additional 30 hectares near Goodwood in West Sussex. These predominantly Burgundian clones yield smaller volumes of intensely flavourful fruit, thriving in the estate’s unique microclimates. This exceptional produce forms the foundation of their renowned, award-winning vintage still and sparkling wines, all crafted using the traditional method.

Gusbourne’s dedication to excellence has garnered prestigious national and international accolades, including being the only UK winery featured in the World’s Best Vineyards 2024 list, ranking in the top 50.
